Get Involved
There are a number of ways in which you can get involved with SLL.
Coach
There is never an overabundance of coaching. SLL is composed entirely of volunteer coaches. Whether you were a Division 1 college baseball player or don't own a baseball glove, there is a place for you to help. Some of our best SLL coaches never had a long baseball career themselves. Also, SLL has coaching references that can help you improve your baseball knowledge. Please sign up as a coach or an assistant coach at registration. You will be asked to complete a background check and free mandatory training (takes 30 minutes) and you are cleared to coach.
League Volunteers
Although the Town maintains the grounds, SLL is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of many features at Memorial Park. Last fall, we established a "grounds crew" to help with a number of maintenance and improvement projects including getting the fields ready after rain. We will solicit interest again this spring.
Provide Feedback
SLL is always looking for ways to improve its program, facilities, and experience for SLL families. Many changes in recent years have come as a result of parent feedback and parent ideas. We conduct a survey at the end of each season and those surveys help us shape our program. Please take time to provide detailed and thoughtful responses to our surveys. In addition, please contact a member of the SLL Board of Directors with ideas or suggestions.
SLL Board Positions
Board positions open from time to time, and are usually filled in the Fall. If you are interested in joining the board, please let us know.
