Goal
This division is a purely instructional division and focuses on basic skills and rules.

SLL Local Rules

  1. Coaches pitch from the knee which simulates the correct trajectory for the batter.
  2. Offensively, a continuous batting order allows all players to bat each inning or until three outs are recorded.
  3. Defensively, all players will play in the field (if less than 12 players) with 6 players positioned in the infield.  Positions will change each inning, giving each player an opportunity to experience each position.
  4. An adult coach should backup the catcher to speed up play (SLL Local Rule 11.2).
  5. A maximum of two coaches (one is a pitcher) are allowed on the field (SLL Local Rule 11.2).
  6. Bunting, stealing or leading is not permitted (SLL Local Rule 11.2)
  7. There are no strikeouts or walks (SLL Local Rule 11.2).  A tee should be used after 5 swings.
  8. No score, records or standings will be kept (SLL Local Rule 11.2)
  9. The game duration is 6 innings with a 2-hour time limit (SLL Local Rule 7.3).
