Welcome to Simsbury Little League!  Below is information regarding the Spring Season incuding registration, division overview and player evaluations. 

 
SLL Registration Fees & Payment Policy:

  • T-Ball & Farm A:  $110 per  player  + $10 Town Fee **
  • AA, AAA & Majors:  $155 per player + $10 Town Fee **
** Note:  A Simsbury Town Assessment Fee of $10 per player will be added to each registration.

 

  • Maximum family registration is $465 ($155 x 3 players); Please contact registrar if you have more than 3 players in the league.
  • Refund Policy:  refunds will only be issued up until the time a player has been placed on a team.  Once teams are formed no refunds will be issued except for medical reasons.

  
SLL Baseball Requirements:

  • Baseball is open to both boys and girls.
  • To view the latest age determination chart for baseball, go to our Documents tab or click HERE.
  • Players must be at least 6-years old as of 9/1 to play T-Ball and not more than 12-years old.
  • Parents of T-Ball players and players who are new to SLL must submit a copy of their birth certificate to the League.  Copies can be sent via email to the registrar Stacie Windisch (Windischfamily@comcast.net) or can be sent to this following address:

Note:Players will not be allowed to participate in practices and/or games until a copy of the birth certificate is received.
 
Baseball Age

Division Overview - BASEBALL
 
T-Ball (ages 5-6):

  • Players can expect to play 1 year of T-Ball.
  • Players must be age 5 as of 8/30 to play T-Ball.
  • All 5-year and 6-year olds who have not previously played SLL will be placed in T-Ball regardless of whether they have prior baseball experience.

Farm A (ages 6-7):

  • Players can expect to play 1-2 years in Farm A.
  • Players who are age 6 who played SLL T-ball previously will be placed in Farm A.
  • Players who are 7-years old will be placed in Farm A.

Farm AA (ages 8-9):

  • Players can expect to play 1-2 years in AA.
  • Players who are 8 will be placed in AA.
  • The majority of 9-year olds will play AA.  A small number of players age 9 with AA experience will be evaluated to determine if they are eligible to be drafted in AAA.

AAA (ages 9-11):

  • Players can expect to play 1-2 years at AAA.
  • AAA teams are formed by draft.
  • All 10-year olds will be placed in AAA.
  • Any 11-year-olds not selected in the majors’ draft will be drafted into AAA.
  • Remaining spots, will be filled by 9-year olds based on ability.  Any 9-year old who has prior AA experience and would like to be eligible to play in AAA MUST attend evaluations.  If a 9-year old does not attend the evaluations he/she will not be eligible to play in AAA.

Majors (ages 11-12):

  • Players can expect to play 1-2 years at Majors.
  • Majors’ teams are formed by draft.
  • All 12-year olds will be placed in Majors. 
  • Remaining spots will be filled by 11-year olds based on ability.  Any 11-year old who has prior AAA experience and would like to be eligible to play in Majors MUST attend evaluations.  If an 11-year old does not attend the evaluations he/she will not be eligible to play in majors.

Baseball Evaluations
Baseball evaluations will take place in February or March to allow managers to determine the best placement of each player.  Evaluations help the league put together fair, safe and balanced teams.  Below are guidelines on who should attend evaluations:
 
6, 7 and 8-year olds – N/A

Evaluations are only for players 9-years old and older.  Younger players may not attend evaluations. 

9-Year olds

  • The majority of 9-year olds will play in AA.  Some 9-year olds will be drafted to play in AAA.
  • The evaluations are optional for all 9-year olds who would like to play in AA.
  • Any 9-year old who has AA experience and would like to be eligible to play in AAA MUST attend evaluations.  If a 9-year old does not attend the evaluations he/she will not be eligible to play in AAA.

 
10-Year Olds

  • All 10-year olds will be placed in AAA. 
  • Evaluations are optional for 10-year olds.

 
11-Year Olds

  • The majority of 11-year olds will play in AAA.  Some 11-year olds will be drafted to play in Majors.
  • The evaluations are optional for all 11-year olds who would like to play in AAA.
  • Any 11-year old who has prior AAA experience and would like to be eligible to play in Majors MUST attend evaluations.  If an 11-year old does not attend the evaluations they will not be eligible to play in majors.
